Gabriel Project of Wyoming at Holy Rosary
Since the beginning of the year, Gabriel Project of Wyoming at Holy Rosary has helped approximately 81 children and 55 families at several locations, including the Ft. Washakie’s Wind River Farmers Market, Mr. D’s parking lot and the Riverton United Methodist’s Church parking lot. We are planning to do diaper distributions In Ft. Washakie at the Wind River Farmers Market this summer. We also plan on doing diaper distributions at at least one Pow Wow on the Wind River reservation this summer and ,hopefully, at St. Stephen’s Indian Mission. It is a joy and a privilege for us volunteers to serve these families and to be a visible presence of God’s love and mercy for them. They are very appreciative!
We are in need of a used or new trailer to store diapers, wipes and other resources and are discussing this with the Board of the Gabriel Project. If anyone knows of any potential trailers, please let me know. Our WYO Gives state wide fundraiser is on July 16 and we will need to obtain donations here to support our mission in Fremont County. We will be asking the local communities to help.
Spiritual Adoption Program
Holy Rosary parishioners, many who are children, have spiritually adopted 30 pre-born babies in order to save them from abortion. These babies are 20 weeks old and their due date is the first week in October which is Respect Life month. We will be planning a brunch celebration to welcome these little ones and the whole parish will be invited. There are many verifiable stories of babies being saved by just a minute of the daily prayer which was originated by Archbishop Fulton Sheen who believed that someday he would meet his spiritually adopted babies in Heaven. Naming the baby helps make the spiritual adoption very real and personal!
40 Days For Life
The Lord willing and with Father Alberto’s permission, we will continue the 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil this Fall again. We will be in need of prayer vigil volunteers and volunteers that will be able to help coordinate the several aspects of the campaign including the Kick Off and Closing Rallies as well as helping with sign ups at the local churches. 40 Days for Life is a community outreach, not just specifically a Holy Rosary outreach. We will be reaching out to Wyoming Catholic College and the local Christian churches in Lander and Riverton. We are extremely thankful for Holy Rosary’s support! My husband, Tim, and I have committed to attending their symposium this summer in Texas to help grow the efforts here.
Life Chain
Life Chain is a national event that takes place on the first Sunday in October from 2 pm – 3 pm. This year it will occur on Sunday, October 5. Many members of our community will be standing on Main Street praying in remembrance of the more than 65 million children who have died in abortion in our nation alone. They will also be praying for our nation to end abortion, for those in crisis situations and those wounded by abortion. We will be encouraging the whole parish to attend.
Education
We have a great need to help educate our Church and community regarding abortion and the discarding of IVF babies. IVF babies that are discarded or, more specifically, left to die are about 1.5 million to 1.8 million annually in our country according to the Catholic News Agency. That is more than those 1 million babies that are aborted annually in the U.S. Numerous babies are also selectively aborted alive here so their cells or organs can be taken when they are alive to be used to make vaccines and or medications. Catholic World Report and many other Catholic organizations have documented this.
Many in the Catholic churches, women, men and families have been traumatically wounded by abortion. They need to know that there is forgiveness, hope and healing available for them through the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Rachel’s Vineyard ‘s retreats.
There is much prayer and fasting needed and much work to do and each person can do something, no matter how young or old! Thank you for your generous support of this ministry! Please share any ideas or suggestions that you may have with us. Lisa
